The School Group Carolina Michaëlis comprises two nursery/primary schools, one middle school and a secondary one. About 180 teachers teach about 1800 students, aged 3-18. Secondary students are aged 15-18 and they attend one of the available areas of studies: Economics, Languages and Humanities and Sciences and Technologies. There are also Professional courses in the areas of Health and ICT. The secondary school is located in the centre of Porto city. The school building is historical, having undergone some reconstruction, with well-equipped classrooms and other spaces. Computers are available in every classroom and there is Internet connection all over the buildings. We hope this partnership will help us: - Fight our students’ school failure and indiscipline; - Improve teaching practices and implement innovative methods to provide students with knowledge and skills for their future life, not only for their work, but also for their personal growth, well-being and active participation in a democratic society, contributing to sustainable development and embracing themselves a sustainable lifestyle; - Understand how the preservation of our cultural heritage can be more effectively integrated into the teaching and learning process; - Create a safer and friendlier environment for the practice of human rights and values, more conducive to real and effective learning.
